Shermansdale, PA – Cecco Racing’s Rick Cecco Charged hard at round three of the 2011 GNCC series and took home a solid second place in the 4×4 Open class.
Steel Creek in Morganton, NC was the hosting facility for round three. Steel Creek is known as one of the more technical tracks on the GNCC circuit with its many hill climbs and creek crossings, but that didn’t slow Rick Cecco down one bit, in fact it’s this type of track where he feels right at home.
Rick Cecco was in the top five off the start, but quickly worked his way into third place in the first couple of miles into the race. Cecco would take over second place in lap two and swap positions a couple of times with Bryan Buckhannon after that, but Cecco was able to reclaim second despite all of the traffic and bottle necks that had formed and held his position all the way to the finish line. Cecco’s speed and determination also allowed him to take a respectable sixth place overall in the morning classes.
“The Steele Creek track is one of my favorites in the series, as far as being technical. I did struggle with traffic a little bit out there, but I am looking forward to heading to South Carolina’s Big Buck GNCC where I am hoping to flex our muscles and secure a 1st place in the 4×4 Open class,” stated Cecco.
Round number four of the 2011 GNCC series will be heading to Union, SC on April 9th, where Rick Cecco will be going for his class win and taking a shot at the morning podium.
