Shermansdale, PA (09/01/2011) – After taking the last two rounds off from the 2011 GNCC series, Cecco Racing’s Rick Cecco made the announcement that he will be returning in full force for the final five rounds of the season and is ready to take on any and all contenders for the podium.

After round six in Patton, PA, Cecco decided to take some time off to spend with his wife Deni and son Kane. “I took a short break from racing to concentrate on my family. I am glad to say the time off was well worth it and that we are coming back to the final five races 100%,” stated Cecco.

All though a good portion of Cecco’s time off was spent with his family, he also took the opportunity to get in some testing and R&D during that time. “I wasn’t racing, but I did spend quite a bit of time working on set up and doing a bit of testing for my sponsors. I’m looking forward to going back and picking up where I left off and maybe stirring up the points a bit,” said Cecco, who took third in his class at the last race he attended.

“I really wanted to give a big thanks to all of my sponsors, family, friends, mechanic Denny Brechbill and supporters who have stood behind me while I took this time to spend with my family. I’m looking forward to getting back on the track at Unadilla to represent my sponsors and hopefully put them on the podium,” stated the former 4×4 Open class champion.

Round number nine of the 2011 GNCC series will be heading to Unadilla in New Berlin, NY on September 10th, where Rick Cecco will be going for the 4×4 Open win and the overall podium as he makes his return to the series for the final five rounds of the season.

Shermansdale, PA – Cecco Racing’s Rick Cecco Charged hard at round three of the 2011 GNCC series and took home a solid second place in the 4×4 Open class.

Steel Creek in Morganton, NC was the hosting facility for round three. Steel Creek is known as one of the more technical tracks on the GNCC circuit with its many hill climbs and creek crossings, but that didn’t slow Rick Cecco down one bit, in fact it’s this type of track where he feels right at home.

Rick Cecco was in the top five off the start, but quickly worked his way into third place in the first couple of miles into the race. Cecco would take over second place in lap two and swap positions a couple of times with Bryan Buckhannon after that, but Cecco was able to reclaim second despite all of the traffic and bottle necks that had formed and held his position all the way to the finish line. Cecco’s speed and determination also allowed him to take a respectable sixth place overall in the morning classes.

Rick Cecco tackling the Steel Creek mud

“The Steele Creek track is one of my favorites in the series, as far as being technical. I did struggle with traffic a little bit out there, but I am looking forward to heading to South Carolina’s Big Buck GNCC where I am hoping to flex our muscles and secure a 1st place in the 4×4 Open class,” stated Cecco.

Round number four of the 2011 GNCC series will be heading to Union, SC on April 9th, where Rick Cecco will be going for his class win and taking a shot at the morning podium.

Shermansdale, PA – Cecco Racing’s Rick Cecco returns to the 4×4 Open Class for the 2011 GNCC series with some new sponsors and a new mechanic that will be helping him reach his goal of taking another championship.

New for the 2011 season is the addition of the Gates Corporation G-Force CVT Belts that Rick Cecco was recently promoting at the 2011 Indy Dealer Expo.

The G-Force belts are a break through in High Performance CVT belts. Additionally, the belts are a durable direct replacement, easy to install and cost less than the OEM stock replacements. “I am very happy to be campaigning for the Gates Corporation and their G-Force CVT Belts. The engineers at Gates have spend thousands of hours in the R&D of this belt which resulted in an incredible product and I am looking forward to a successful season with them” said Cecco.

Rick Cecco will be testing out a new filter system for K&N this year that they are hoping to put into future production for the Can-Am Outlander and Renegade ATV’s. “The new K&N filter design has been making amazing HP gains on the dyno and even more importantly it’s been doing a great job filtering the vital intake air on the track. K&N is a great company with excellent products so I have no doubts it will be a successful replacement to the non-reusable filter that comes standard on the Renegade & Outlander models,” stated Cecco.

Also new to the list of Cecco Racing’s supporters this season is OMF Wheels, G-4 Graphics, Walsh Racing and Motosports Can Am Polaris of Hanover, PA. “From the first time I met the owners & workers at Motosports Can Am Polaris they made me feel at home and to top it off they are a HUGE fan of GNCC racing – they knew who I was and all of my competitors. I have yet to find another Can Am dealer stocked with as many OEM & aftermarket products for ATV’s as Motosports does.” said Cecco.

Cecco Racing has also added a new mechanic this season. “Denny Brechbill will be helping me this season as my mechanic. Denny is a great guy and has a lot of experience in all forms of on & off road racing. Denny will focus on maintaining our race quads, trailer and hauler so I can focus on racing, training & product promotion.” Cecco said.

Powerbar will be returning to the Cecco Racing program this year and Rick Cecco couldn’t be happier about it. “I believe I am one of a very few teams in the GNCC series that has a sponsor that is completely outside of the industry, so I am very proud to start my 4th year with Nestle / Powerbar and I hope it opens the doors for others as well,” stated Cecco.

Rick Cecco and the rest of his crew are looking forward to a successful year and have their eye set on the 2011 GNCC 4×4 Open Championship and with the help of all of their sponsors, they feel that championship is within their reach.

Cecco Racing would like to thank all of our 2011 sponsors: Powerbar, Gates G-Force, Big Gun Exhaust, GBC Motorsports, Fox Racing Shox, OMF Wheels, The BOM Racing, Flynt’s Custom Performance, Motosports Can Am Polaris, Team Can-Amtalk.com, Fly Racing, Spider Grips, Flexx Bars, DP Brakes, Rath Racing, All Terrain Research, STM Supreme Tool, G4 Graphics, Quadtech, Clarke Manufacturing, Ricochet Skid Plates, K&N, Outerwears, Can-Am/BRP Race Support, Powermadd, Scott Goggles, Rox Speed FX, Walsh Racecraft, HRE Racing, Kenny Hill Photography, X Country Photography, Stadt Digital Media.

Shermansdale, PA – Rounds one and two of the 2011 GNCC series held plenty of excitement for Cecco Racing’s Rick Cecco as he came on strong at round one, taking a strong second in the 4×4 Open class.

The sandy soils of Florida were good to Cecco as he got off to a good start and charged his way up from a third place start to claim second in his class. His strong performance also allowed him to take a respectable sixth place overall in the morning classes.

“Florida went well for me. At the end of the day we brought home some valuable championship points,” said Cecco.

After a successful round in Florida, and only one short week to rest up and get ready, Cecco headed to Aonia Pass in Georgia for “The General” where instead of sand, thick heavy mud was the name of the game for round number two of the 2011 GNCC series.

At the start of the race, Cecco was in fifth place going into the woods in the first lap and was gaining ground.

Rick Cecco and his Power Bar/G-Force Outlander will be looking for the win at Steel Creek.

Cecco quickly picked off the competition and worked into the number three spot and began to hunt down second place. With only two laps left in the race, Cecco was closing in on second, but then suddenly, he snapped the rear pinion gear in his differential only a few miles into lap four. “My Powerbar/G-Force Can-Am Outlander ran great today. I struggled getting up through the pack from a poor start while Michael Swift and Bryan Buckhannon pulled away while having their own battle. Once I passed up through 4th & 3rd I was able to get back up to leaders pace and I was sure to see 2nd soon and just then my rear differential snapped and I was out with only front wheel drive. I tried to keep going but the track was too gnarly to make it through some of the sections,” Cecco explained.

Unfortunately, Cecco’s race ended early at round two, but the set back has given him even more determination to come out on top at round three. “This week we are going to work on our starts so that we can move right to the front and stay there,” said Cecco.

Round three of the GNCC series will have Rick Cecco traveling to Morganton, NC on March 26th at Steel Creek where Cecco will be going for the win.
